controller works on desktop but not in games

my controller works fine on the desktop but soon as i launch a game it just does nothing. tried 2 different pads same deal. ps5 controller if that matters

probably steam input grabbing it. open big picture > settings > controller and toggle steam input off for that game (or on, one of them fixes it). if the game has its own controller setting make sure thats on gamepad too

turning steam input off did it, works now.
