steam wont open, just bounces once then nothing

steam wont open anymore. i click it, the logo bounces once then nothing happens. was fine yesterday. help

run steam from a terminal so you can see what its actually erroring on. 9 times out of 10 its a bad client update and clearing the appcache fixes it. dont delete the steamapps folder tho or you lose your installs

yeah it spat out some client error, cleared the appcache and it opens again. thank u
